Baileys Irish Cream Mousse

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1/2 cup Baileys Irish Cream
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup mascarpone cheese (optional for extra creaminess)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup dark chocolate (shaved or melted for garnish)
  • Chocolate cookies or crushed graham crackers (for layering or base)

Instructions:

  1. Whip the Cream:

    • In a large mixing bowl, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form.
  2. Add Baileys:

    • Slowly pour in the Baileys Irish Cream and vanilla extract, continuing to whip until the mixture is well combined and forms stiff peaks.
  3. Sweeten the Mousse:

    • Add the powdered sugar gradually and mix gently. If you're using mascarpone, fold it into the mixture at this point to add extra creaminess.
  4. Layer with Crushed Cookies:

    • In serving glasses or dessert bowls, create layers by starting with a spoonful of the Baileys mousse, followed by a layer of crushed chocolate cookies or graham crackers. Repeat until the glass is filled.
  5. Garnish:

    • Top with shaved dark chocolate or drizzle melted chocolate over the dessert. You can also add a final dusting of powdered sugar or cocoa for extra decoration.
  6. Chill:

    • Refrigerate the mousse for at least 1 hour before serving to let the flavors blend and the mousse set.
